Wieser Host
Privacy Policy
Last updated Oct 8, 2026
This policy explains what personal information Wieser Host ("we," "us") collects through wieserhost.com and when you book a stay, how we use it, and your choices.
Information we collect
- Booking details: your name, email, phone number, stay dates, number of guests, and any messages you send us.
- Payment information: processed by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment and the amount, but never your full card number.
- Identity verification: photos of your driver's license, a live selfie, and details from the license (such as name, date of birth, and license number), collected and processed by Stripe Identity. We receive the result, your verified name, and your age. The images stay with Stripe.
- Website activity: pages visited, device and browser information, and the ad or link that brought you to us (such as campaign tags and ad click IDs), collected with cookies and similar tools, including advertising and analytics tools from Meta, TikTok, and Google when they are enabled.
Biometric information
Identity verification compares your selfie with the photo on your license using facial geometry. This may be biometric information under laws such as the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act.
- Purpose: only to confirm that the person booking is the person on the ID, for safety and fraud prevention.
- Processor: Stripe, Inc. collects and processes this information on our behalf. We do not sell, lease, trade, or otherwise profit from biometric information.
- Retention and destruction: we instruct Stripe to permanently delete your verification data, including biometric information, 90 days after your stay ends, and in all cases within 3 years of your last interaction with us, unless a longer period is required by law.
- Consent: by agreeing to this policy when you book and then starting verification, you give your written consent to this collection and use. Stripe also shows its own consent screen. If you do not wish to consent, contact us before booking.

Cookies and advertising
Our advertising and analytics tools use cookies to measure visits and the results of our ads. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings and manage ad preferences in your Google, Meta, and TikTok accounts. We do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals.
